Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers were beaten 1-0 by Celtic in the most recent Old-Firm derby.

Celtic defender Kieran Tierney has told the Daily Express that he paid no attention to the hype around Glasgow Rangers.

Rangers recently took on Celtic in the Old-Firm derby, with Steven Gerrard’s side given a good chance of toppling their Glasgow rivals.

However, Celtic ended up winning the game 1-0, and they could have scored on more occasions.

“Everybody was talking about Rangers but we kept quiet and did our talking where it matters most – on the park,” Tierney said.

“We played really well against Rangers and on another day we could have scored a few more.

“I don’t think anyone could have argued with the final outcome.”

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has still not lost a game to Rangers during his time in charge in Scotland.

Rangers do appear to have improved under Gerrard’s tutelage, but they still have some way to go to catch Celtic.

Even at this early stage of the season, Rangers are trailing Celtic by four points in the Scottish Premiership table.

Celtic and Rangers will next meet at Ibrox in December, when it should be much clearer just how much Gerrard has been able to improve the Light Blues.
