Celtic defender Jozo Simunovic has admitted to The Daily Record that he will struggle to convince everyone about his injury.
The 22-year-old centre-back’s time at Celtic so far has been affected by injury concerns.
The Croatia Under-21 international was sidelined for eight months due to a knee problem.
The former Dinamo Zagreb youngster is now fully fit, but Simunovic has admitted that he will struggle to convince everyone that his injury problems are behind him.
“The bad times are all behind me now and I don’t have any problem if someone wants to ask me about my knee because it’s fine now,” Simunovic told The Daily Record.
“It doesn’t matter what people ask. I know what I feel. These are my knees, no one else’s. It’s difficult to convince people.
“I know people say my name and everyone says the same thing: ‘He had an operation, maybe the knee is not good’. It has not been easy sometimes, but that is football life.”
Simunovic joined Celtic from Zagreb in the summer of 2015 for a transfer fee reported by The Daily Record to be worth £5 million.
Celtic are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 58 points from 20 matches.
The Hoops are 19 points clear of second-placed and Old Firm rivals Rangers and have a game in hand.
The Bhoys will return to action on January 22 when they take on Albion Rovers away from home at the Exsel Group Stadium in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup.
