Celtic would be landing a bargain by signing Steven Caulker from Queens Park Rangers.

According to the Daily Record, Celtic have allowed Steven Caulker to train with them – as Brendan Rodgers takes a look at the centre-back.

Although Rodgers has denied that Celtic signing Caulker is imminent, he also refused to rule out the possibility of a permanent transfer for the centre-back at a later date.

And if Celtic do bring Caulker to Parkhead, he could become one of the bargain buys of the summer.

Queens Park Rangers are unlikely to ask for a big fee for Caulker, who they are keen to offload.

And if Celtic can get Caulker back to his best form, he could be a major hit in Glasgow.

Caulker has suffered with some personal issues recently, but has told the Guardian that he is ready to get his footballing career back on track now.

And if Rodgers can bring the best out of Caulker then he could be a brilliant addition.

Caulker is an England international, who proved in his younger years that he had the capabilities to impress in the Premier League.

And if Celtic can help the defender rediscover this form, then he would be a wonderful addition for Rodgers’ side.
