The Celtic teenager showed glimpses of the club legend on his debut.
While it is very early days, Celtic fans will be pleased and excited by what they saw of new signing Eboue Kouassi when he came off the bench against St Mirren last weekend.
The 19-year-old signed for the Bhoys from Russian club Krasnodar in January but he has had to wait patiently for his first chance to impress.
That came in the Scottish Cup quarter-final, when the teenager came off the bench for the last 13 minutes and set about proving his worth.
On early evidence, Celtic may have found their new Paul Lambert, and if he goes on to enjoy the success of the Bhoys legend Brendan Rodgers will be smiling after a job very well done.
Lambert first made a name for himself as a 17-year-old cup winner at St Mirren but Bhoys fans will always remember him for his superb spell at Celtic Park, featuring nearly 200 times, winning four Scottish league titles, two Scottish Cups, two Scottish League Cups and leading the club out in the 2003 UEFA Cup final.
Celtic did not get Lambert until he was already a fully-fledged star, but they have Kouassi at the very start of his journey and if Rodgers uses him effectively, the sky really is the limit for the young Ivorian.
Having shown his promise in a very brief cameo earlier this month, the Celtic player could get the chance to make his mark against their fierce rivals Rangers this weekend.
Most likely from the bench, Kouassi could be unleashed to prove his quality against the Gers, showing what Rangers have to look forward to in the years ahead.
After all, Kouassi will already understand the importance of beating Rangers, and how he performs when he first comes up against them, if only for a few minutes, will speak volumes about his character and potential.
