Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell has told The Times that Brendan Rodgers will remain at the club for the next few years.
Rodgers was appointed the Celtic manager in the summer following the departure of Ronny Deila at the end of the 2015-16 campaign.
The former Liverpool manager has done a wonderful job at Celtic Park so far this season.
The Glasgow giants progressed to the group stage of the Champions League and have already won the Scottish League Cup this campaign.
Celtic are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 37 points from 13 matches.
The Hoops are eight points clear of second-placed and Old Firm rivals Rangers, and have three games in hand.
Lawwell has stated that Rodgers will remain the Celtic manager for a few more years.
However, the Celtic chief executive has admitted that the former Swansea City manager will eventually return to the Premier League.
“Nothing is guaranteed in football but I have no reason to doubt that he will be here for several years,” Lawwell told The Times about Rodgers’s future.
“We are planning together for the coming years, and I would like to think he will be here for the next few years.
“Ultimately, will Brendan go back to the English Premier League or elsewhere in Europe? That is highly probable because he is a fantastic coach.
“But I do see him being at Celtic for quite a while. It will all be determined by his level of satisfaction and his feeling of achievement in his work.”
Celtic are one of the biggest clubs in the world and have a global fanbase, and it seems that Rodgers is enjoying himself at Celtic Park.
While Rodgers is not going to stay at the Bhoys forever, fans should be enjoying the current situation.
