Celtic pulled off a major coup in the summer by hiring Brendan Rodgers.
Quoted by The Scottish Sun, Celtic chairman Ian Bankier told the club’s AGM that welcoming Brendan Rodgers to the club ranks as the proudest day of his professional career.
The Scottish giants appointed the Northern Irishman to replace Ronny Deila in May.
Rodgers spent three years as Liverpool manager and came within a point of delivering a Premier League title in 2014, making it a very high-profile coup for Celtic.

And the 43-year-old has certainly lived up to his reputation as a fine young manager as the Bhoys have swept all before them in the domestic competitions so far this season.
Rodgers’s side sit top of the Scottish Premiership, 10 points clear of second-placed Aberdeen – whom they face in a League Cup final this month – and the ex-Swansea boss also brought Champions League football back to the Hoops – and a £30 million windfall.
All in all, he has been an outstanding appointment, and Bankier, who has been Celtic chairman for five years, says the day Rodgers arrived as “just astonishing”.

“For me it was probably the proudest moment of my professional career. That day when I welcomed, along with the directors, Brendan to the club was just astonishing,” he told an AGM, via The Scottish Sun.
“Celtic, they say always surprises you, and it really did so on that particular occasion, it was fantastic. So as we’ve already seen, we’ve attracted a top class manager to the club.
“What he’s brought in terms of his backroom staff, the whole approach to coaching the team, the quality of player that he can attract, all of these things are there now for us to see.”
