Celtic defender Carl Starfelt is attracting Premier League interest well in advance of the summer transfer window.
That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who claims that Starfelt is ‘one to watch’ for the summer window.
A number of Premier League clubs are thought to be following Starfelt and consider him a potential signing option.
Romano adds that Celtic will try to keep hold of Starfelt, viewing him as an ‘important player’ right now.
The Bhoys will likely take a stance on most of their first-team stars such as Reo Hatate, Matt O’Riley and Liel Abada.
Yet having allowed Josip Juranovic leave in January, Celtic have shown they will sell if the price is right and if a replacement can be found.

Carl Starfelt has had mixed reviews at Celtic
Starfelt joined Celtic from Russian side Rubin Kazan back in the summer of 2021 with the Bhoys paying around £4million.
The Swede arrived to bolster a shaky Celtic back line but started out slowly and attracted criticism for his early displays.
By the end of last season though, Starfelt was impressing and was hailed as ‘immense’ by Bhoys hero Chris Sutton.
Not everybody is completely sold on Starfelt though.
Ally McCoist criticised the defender earlier this year, claiming that there is ‘always a lack of concentration’ in his game and that teams can really get at him.
The 27-year-old may divide opinion but Premier League teams are now circling and Celtic won’t want to sell.
The partnership between Starfelt and Cameron Carter-Vickers has been strong whilst Yuki Kobayashi may not quite be ready to step up as a first-choice defender yet.
Celtic will be looking to keep Starfelt at the club and keep building around him rather than flog him to England this summer.
