Celtic face Rangers this weekend.
Celtic’s Scott Brown celebrates scoring their fifth goal
Celtic captain Scott Brown will be available to face Rangers this weekend after an appeal was lodged against his upcoming suspension.
SkySports report that with Brown’s case not set to be heard until next week, he is all set to go for the Scottish Cup semi-final.
While Brown’s presence could damage Rangers’ chances of winning the game, ultimately his presence is good news for the Gers.
Celtic’s Scott Brown applauds fans after the game
If Rangers had beaten Celtic with Brown sat out, supporters of the champions would have a ready made excuse for defeat.
This way if Rangers do beat Celtic, they can boast that they beat their rivals best side, and will not have their victory tainted.
It certainly will not be easy for Rangers to claim a victory against a Celtic side who haven’t been beaten all season in domestic football.
Many Rangers fans may simply want to win at all costs, whether Brown is in the Celtic side or not. Losing to Celtic without their captain would be even worse.
If Rangers now go on to win this weekend, Brown’s presence in the Celtic side will make it so much more satisfying.
