Celtic may end up facing a bill of more than £10million if they sign Cameron Carter-Vickers from Tottenham Hotspur on a permanent basis.

The Daily Record claim that the permanent option in Carter-Vickers’ loan deal is worth around £6million.

Yet with two add-ons involved in the deal, Celtic’s final outlay could reach more than £10million.

That fee would end up eclipsing Odsonne Edouard as Celtic’s most expensive signing of all time.

Before signing for Celtic on deadline day in August, Carter-Vickers signed a new deal at Tottenham until 2023.

The American international has impressed at Celtic and indicated that he would like to stay at Parkhead.

Carter-Vickers, 23, is in his seventh loan spell away from Tottenham having failed to really break through in London.

Carter-Vickers finally seems to have found a home, and Celtic fans would love to see him stay for the long-term.

That price tag is a major concern though. £6million you can understand, but when the deal gets to eight figures, you could understand Celtic being a little hesitant.

Now possibly facing a club-record outlay for Carter-Vickers, Celtic may be wise to eye up other defender just in case they choose to look elsewhere.
