Celtic are welcoming January signing Maryan Shved to the club.

Incoming Celtic winger Maryan Shved has told the club’s official website that he thinks Parkhead is a ‘brilliant’ arena.

The Bhoys were busy in January, not only bringing in signings to aid their title push, but also players for the future – and Shved was one of them.

Shved, 21, had impressed in his native Ukraine with Karpaty Lviv, and despite Brendan Rodgers not really knowing who the winger was, Celtic signed him.

The exciting wide man was sent back on loan to Lviv, seeing out the season there before heading to Celtic for pre-season training.

After finishing the season with an outstanding goal tally of 15 in 26 games, Shved has now joined up with his new Celtic teammates to really start his Bhoys career.

Having that goalscoring threat from wide will be a great addition to the Celtic side, and Shved has now discussed his first impressions of Celtic.

Shved has thanked everyone for a great welcome as he attempts to settle, and admitted that he’s already met some Celtic fans, describing it was ‘great fun’, adding that Parkhead is a ‘brilliant arena’ having visited Celtic’s home.

“The next few weeks is a great chance for me to get to know the club and the players and other people at Celtic,” said Shved. “I have had a brilliant welcome already, and I am very grateful to everyone for making me feel at home.”

“I have been out in Glasgow, too, and had the chance to meet some fans, which has been great fun and, again, they have treated me so warmly. I’m already thinking ahead to next season and I can’t wait to get out at Celtic Park, such a brilliant arena, and play for the fans,” he added.
