Celtic boss Ronny Deila mocks Emilio Izaguirre after woeful penalty miss

The Honduran blazed over the bar when on a hat-trick.

Celtic ran out comfortable winners in the Scottish Premiership today – romping to a 6-0 triumph over Dundee with a surprise hero at the forefront of the action.

Honduran left-back Emilio Izaguirre has had his fair share of critics this season. The defender then found himself sent off against Ajax in the Europa League this week with the score 2-1 to Celtic. They went on to draw the tie 2-2 – with Izaguirre largely to blame.

With that clearly in the back of his mind he went out onto the pitch this weekend like a man on a mission and scored, twice!

The goals were his first for the club since January and he might have even had a hat-trick. Celtic were awarded a penalty in the game and in the feeling of good spirit the ball was passed to Izaguirre to try and bag a hat-trick.

However, his woeful effort did not threaten the back of the net, or the bar, as it hurtled into space.

His manager Ronny Deila was less than sympathetic in his post-match presser, stating:

Hopefully however Izaguirre will be buoyed by this performance after a difficult week and can continue to produce his best for the club.
