Celtic manager Neil Lennon has told The Daily Record that he is not interested in signing Silas Wamangituka from Paris FC.

Lennon, though, has said that he wants to sign a centre-forward for Celtic in the summer transfer window.

A recent report in The Scottish Sun claimed that the Hoops are interested in securing the services of the 19-year-old forward this summer.

The report has also stated that the youngster is rated at £4.5 million, and that scouts from Premier League club Liverpool have watched him in recent months.

“It wasn’t him,” Lennon told The Daily Record when asked about reported interest in Wamangituka. “But we are looking at players. And centre-forward is a position I would look at.”

Encouraging for Liverpool

With Lennon stating that he is not interested in Wamangituka, it is encouraging for Liverpool, who will not face competition from Celtic for the services of the youngster.

The Reds are not exactly in need of an attacking player this summer, but it will not hurt if the Merseyside outfit bring in the 19-year-old who has a bright future ahead of him.

According to WhoScored, Wamangituka has made 21 starts and eight substitute appearances in Ligue 2 for Paris FC so far this season, scoring nine goals in the process.
