Fraser Forster joined Celtic on loan from Southampton in the summer transfer window.
Lennon was impressed with the performance of Forster during Celtic’s 2-1 win against Lazio at Celtic Park Europa League Group E on Thursday evening.
The 31-year-old goalkeeper could have probably done better for the goal that he conceded, but the former Newcastle United prospect made two brilliant saves later in the game to ascertain the three points for Lennon’s team.
Lennon was pleased with the display produced by the England international goalkeeper and has raved about him.
The Celtic boss was also pleased with midfielder Scott Brown’s performance against Lazio.
Lennon told The Times: “I know what he’s capable of. He makes saves that other goalkeepers can’t make. He made two world-class saves.”
Lennon told BBC Sport when asked what impressed him the most against Lazio: “My captain (Scott Brown).”
Permanent Celtic move?
Forster is a very good goalkeeper, but it is hard to see the Englishman have a long-term future at Southampton.
The 31-year-old is arguably the best goalkeeper at Celtic, and one suspects that the Glasgow giants could try to make his loan deal permanent if he continues to produce performances like the one he did against Lazio on Thursday evening.
