Celtic ran out 2-0 winners over Rangers at Ibrox, after putting in what was a very accomplished display.
Celtic looked solid at the back, and posed a threat going forward, as they comfortably beat Steven Gerrard’s side.
And Lennon felt that his Celtic team were treated unfairly in the build up to the contest.
“We were an afterthought coming into this fixture,” he said.
“I was an afterthought, my board were an afterthought. It was all about the opposition and what they were going to do to us.
“We didn’t listen to any of it, we stayed strong and played brilliantly. Even in Sky’s promo for the game, there was no picture of me, it was all about Steven. I feel like Brooks Koepka here.”
The victory for Celtic is the first big statement in the race for the title this season, even at this early stage.
Rangers were looking to prove that they had caught up with Celtic over the summer, after some impressive transfer business, but they failed to do that yesterday.
Celtic opened the scoring through Odsonne Edouard, before Jonny Hayes rounded off the triumph late on.
The Bhoys now have the upper hand on Rangers heading into the international break, with Lennon’s men next in action against Hamilton in two weeks’ time.
