Celtic boss Neil Lennon comments on Ryan Christie injury

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has suggested that Ryan Christie will be fit for the Scottish Cup final against Heart of Midlothian next month, as quoted in The Scottish Sun.

Christie suffered an injury during Celtic’s Scottish Cup semi-final tie against Aberdeen on Sunday afternoon, which the Glasgow giants won 3-0.

The 24-year-old midfielder stretched off in a neck brace after a clash of heads with Aberdeen defender Dominic Ball.

Celtic manager Lennon has suggested that Christie – who was subsequently sent to hospital for a CT scan, according to The Scottish Sun – will be fit for the Scottish Cup final against Hearts next month.

The Scottish Sun quotes Lennon as saying about Christie: “We saw him at half-time. He was conscious and we think he will be okay for the Cup Final.

“It’s either a broken cheekbone or a broken eye socket. I don’t really know the extent of it yet.”

Celtic had 68% of the possession, took 24 shots of which 10 were on target, and earned 10 corners, according to BBC Sport.

The Hoops will head into the Scottish Cup final against Hearts as firm favourites.
