Celtic manager Neil Lennon praises Mikael Lustig.
Lennon, though, has admitted that Lustig could have played his last game for Celtic at the weekend.
The 32-year-old Sweden international right-back was in action for the Hoops in their 2-1 win against Heart of Midlothian in the Scottish Cup final at Hampden Park in Glasgow on Saturday afternoon.
According to The Scottish Sun, Celtic have a one-year option on Lustig’s contract, but Lennon has suggested that the defender could have played his final game for the Glasgow giants.
Lennon told The Scottish Sun regarding the Hearts game being Lustig’s last for Celtic: “I hope not. It could be, he was very emotional at the end.
“But I’d love him to stay. He’s done the full eight with three trebles as well. He couldn’t have done any more. He’s a brilliant player.”
Moving on
Lustig has been very good for Celtic over the years, but in recent times, the Sweden international has not great and has made mistakes.
It is time for Celtic to move on and find a better and younger right-back or promote from the youth team to take the place of the 32-year-old.
