Celtic boss Neil Lennon comments on Jack Hendry injury

Celtic defender Jack Hendry suffered an injury during the reserve against Rangers.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has said that Jack Hendry is out for the rest of the season, as quoted in The Scottish Sun.

Lennon has suggested that Hendry suffered during the injury during a reserve game between Celtic and Rangers earlier this week.

The 23-year-old Scotland intentional central defender tore his hamstring, and Celtic boss Lennon has said that the former Wigan Athletic man will not play again this season.

The Scottish Sun quotes Lennon as saying about Hendry: “Jack Hendry played in the reserve game and he’s torn a hamstring. So he looks like he’s going to be out for the rest of the season as well.”

Huge disappointment

The season-ending injury to Hendry will have come as a huge disappointment to the defender.

True, there are not too many games left this campaign, but if the Hoops have virtually wrapped up the league title, and Lennon could have given the centre-back some valuable playing time.

According to WhoScored, the defender made four appearances in the Scottish Premiership and played three matches in the Scottish League Cup for Celtic this season.

Celtic have won the Scottish League Cup already this season, and have progressed to the final of the Scottish Cup and are set to clinch the Scottish Premiership title as well.
