Celtic have all but wrapped up the defence of their Scottish Premiership title.
During an exclusive interview with Sky Sports News, Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers discussed the plans he has in mind for his squad during the winter break, following their trip to Ibrox to take on Rangers on New Year’s Eve.
Celtic have been totally dominant this season on the domestic front, and currently hold a 16 point lead over Rangers in the Scottish Premiership table, with a game in hand over their fierce rivals.

And Rodgers, who is taking his squad away to Dubai for a warm weather training camp over the first week of January, dropped a hint that Celtic could be active during the transfer window, as quoted by Sky Sports News:
“We’ll go away and recover in the break, we will go away and do some hard work. We will come back and we may have one or two players that we can add to the squad who can take us forward again, and then we will get ready for the second part of the season.”

Following Celtic’s game against Rangers on Saturday, Rodgers’ men will have to wait until January 25th before they resume their Scottish Premiership campaign, so they will be determined to sign off with a victory for them as well as their fans – who consider the Old Firm Derby to be the most important in world football.
And it will be interesting to see if the Hoops boss manages to strengthen his options even further in January, as he looks to build a side capable of challenging in Europe as well as domestically.
