Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is said to be considered as a potential manager of Newcastle United.

Newcastle are reportedly considering the future of Rafael Benitez, with Rodgers lined up as a potential replacement.
But Rodgers would be unwise to leave Celtic to join Newcastle, unless he was given assurances over his transfer budget.
Benitez has had to operate at Newcastle with his hands tied behind his back, and never had enough funds.

And the job Rodgers has done at Celtic means that he will be an appealing prospect to many Premier League clubs.
If Rodgers was to pick Newcastle now, he would risk being in a similar situation to what he is at Celtic – in the sense of not being able to sign the majority of the players he wants.
And Rodgers should bide his time and wait for a better option before he contemplates making a return to England.
