Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has already worked with Joe Allen at two different clubs during his career to date.

Brendan Rodgers has already publicly admitted that he loved being able to sign Joe Allen while he was in charge at Liverpool, so it’s hardly a surprise that Celtic now want the midfielder.
Rodgers has linked up with Allen twice in his career, at both Swansea and Liverpool.
And when he was appointed at Anfield, Rodgers told Wales Online in 2012, about how much he enjoyed being able to sign Allen for the Reds.

He revealed: “I said [to Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins], ‘Listen, if there is a market for Joe and there was obvious interest in him, I would love to be in that market if he is going to go.
“Then I got a call four or five days later asking me what I was thinking – that told me he was ready for a sale.”
Allen did move to Liverpool, but the move did not work out particularly well, and he ended up at Stoke.
Rodgers, meanwhile, has been at Celtic for the past two seasons – leaving the pair separated.

However, according to the Daily Mirror, Celtic are in the market to sign Allen this summer.
Stoke want big money for the midfielder, but Celtic are still keen to try and complete a deal.
And, considering Rodgers is such a big fan of Allen, it should not come as a surprise that he wants to take the midfielder to Parkhead.
