Celtic moved to within seven points of the Scottish Premiership title as they beat Inverness 4-0.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers
Brendan Rodgers is hoping that Celtic’s emphatic win over Inverness Caledonian Thistle will go a long way to silencing those who want to talk about the previous meeting at the Caledonian Stadium, Sky Sports reports.
The Hoops continued their dominance in the Scottish Premiership and are now just seven points off securing yet another league title following an impressive 4-0 win over Richie Foran’s men.
The only blemish in their domestic season came at the same ground back in September when Caley scored an 89th minute equaliser to earn a 2-2 draw against the Hoops. Since then, Rodgers’ men have won 22 league games in a row to move 27 points clear of Aberdeen at the summit.
And following the game, Rodgers suggested that he is hoping that the win would help put any talk surrounding the previous game at the ground to bed.

“Even though we played well in that game, there was no level of control like that, no idea how to press and work together,” he told Sky Sports.
“That shows how we’ve come on from that point. Maybe people will stop talking about that game now!”
Unfortunately for Rodgers, Celtic’s incredible record on the domestic front this term may mean that the September meeting ultimately does become one of the most notable results from their campaign.
General view of Celtic Park
If the Bhoys continue dominating teams without much resistance, it is difficult to imagine that any side will be capable of preventing them winning every remaining game left this season. And if that proves to be the case, then the two dropped points against Inverness will perhaps hurt just a little bit.
However, if the curtain does come down on the season with Celtic having collected maximum points in every other game, then Rodgers may look to suggest to his players that only perfection is good enough next season as a way to keep them fully motivated when the new campaign begins.
