Trevor Carson impressed the Celtic boss on Wednesday night.

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has told Herald Scotland that Motherwell goalkeeper Trevor Carson deserves “massive credit” for his heroics in Wednesday’s 1-1draw at Fir Park.
Stephen Robinson’s side looked set to end Celtic’s 65-game unbeaten run in domestic competitions last night when a Mikael Lustig own goal gave Motherwell a 78th-minute lead.
But Scott Sinclair smashed home an 88th-minute equaliser from the penalty spot after Callum McGregor was fouled by Andy Rose.

Much of the post-match talk has revolved around the penalty decision and the Hoops’ resolve to preserve their phenomenal record in Scottish football under Rodgers, but the Northern Irishman reserved praise for his compatriot afterwards.
The 29-year-old made a host of stunning saves – including one point-blank stop to deny Tom Rogic on the stroke of half time – and Rodgers admits he was simply outstanding.

He told Herald Scotland: “You have to give massive credit to their goalkeeper. I knew Trevor as a young guy and he was outstanding. Then I lost track of him but he made some great saves.”
Both sides do it all again at Parkhead on Saturday for what will be a third successive meeting between the sides, after Celtic also won the League Cup final against Well at Hampden on Sunday.
