Tom Rogic earned the plaudits from Celtic’s 2-0 win over Kilmarnock on Saturday.
Speaking to The Evening Express, Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has hailed Tom Rogic as a “fantastic talent” after he weaved some “absolute magic” for the Hoops on Saturday.
Celtic picked up their third successive Scottish Premiership victory of the season by beating Kilmarnock 2-0 at Rugby Park yesterday afternoon.
But the reigning champions had to fight for their 1-0 half-time lead as James Forrest fired Rodgers’s side ahead with five minutes to go in a cagey opening 45 minutes.
Much of that goal is owed to the power and cunning of Rogic, who picked up an excellent assist, and the Northern Irish manager can’t say enough good things about the Aussie.
He told The Evening Express, when asked about the 24-year-old’s contribution: “He is a fantastic talent. If you watch the goal closely, it was just absolute magic.
“We worked the ball really well and if you notice on the replay he just lifts it over their player and continues his run. If he tries to put it on the floor the defender blocks him.
“He has the awareness to square it and it wasn’t an easy finish for James but he guided it in.”
Rogic is certainly an outstanding player for Celtic and he’ll be aiming for another influential season under Rodgers.
Last time around, the Australia international managed 11 goals in all competitions for the Bhoys and he already has two under his belt this season – home and away against Linfield in a first-round Champions League qualifier with the Northern Irish outfit.
