Celtic drew 0-0 with the Norwegian side on Wednesday night.
Brendan Rodgers has told The Scotsman that he is hopeful Leigh Griffiths to be available for Celtic’s return leg with Rosenborg in Norway next week.
Celtic’s Champions League campaign hangs in the balance after drawing 0-0 with the Norwegian side in Glasgow night.
Rodgers was without two of his best strikers as Moussa Dembele and Griffiths – who had a one-match suspension anyway – are both injured at the moment.
A calf injury is troubling the Scottish hitman, but the Bhoys boss told The Scotsman that he believes the 26-year-old will make the return leg next week.
He said: “I’m hopeful Leigh will be back for the second leg but we’ll see. He couldn’t have played tonight even if he had been available.”
Dembele is out of action until September so the onus is on Griffiths to fire Celtic into the next round of Champions League qualifiers.
He is certainly capable, given how he has close to 60 goals over the past two seasons, and the Hoops will certainly hope that he is available.
