Celtic are set to receive another huge financial reward as qualification to the Champions League looks an almost certainty.
Speaking to The Express, Brendan Rodgers has said that Celtic’s £30 million windfall from their imminent Champions League qualification will not go toward any players.
Celtic have one foot in the group stage of Europe’s elite competition after thumping Astana 5-0 in Glasgow on Wednesday night.
In doing so, Rodgers’s side have all but secured another massive financial reward for reaching the Champions League proper.

But Rodgers has told The Express that fans shouldn’t expect him to go on a shopping spree before the transfer window closes.
“The reality is if we get £30m or £40m from the Champions League I won’t be getting £30m to spend on players or a player,” he said.
“What it does do is allow us as a club to keep making steps forward.”
Of course, Celtic received a similar amount for reaching the group stages last season and Rodgers hasn’t broken the bank on any players this summer.
The Northern Irishman has only made three signings, with Jonny Hayes and Olivier Ntcham totalling around £5.8 million, while ex-Ipswich man Kundai Benyu joined for a nominal fee after the ex-Liverpool boss took advantage of the cross-border compensation rule.
The Hoops look set to re-sign Patrick Roberts from Manchester City, but even that is expected to be another loan deal, the 21-year-old previously spending 18 months in Glasgow.
