Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has told The Scottish Sun that there is no exit-clause in Daniel Arzani’s loan deal with Manchester City.

The Hoops signed Arzani on a two-year loan deal from Premier League club City in the summer transfer window.

The 19-year-old, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, has yet to make a competitive appearance for Celtic so far this season.

According to The World Game, there is a get-out clause in the loan deal between Celtic and City over Arzani.

It has been reported that there is an agreement in place to send the Australia international attacker back to parent club City should he fail to land a first-team appearance for Celtic by December.

Celtic manager Rodgers, though, has denied that that such as a get-out clause exists, and the former Liverpool boss has also explained why Arzani has not played a competitive match for the Scottish Premiership giants so far this season.

Rodgers told The Scottish Sun: “Daniel is a 19-year-old boy who has come in for two years to get experience. He has burst on to the scene in Australia and of course they will want him to do well.

“But there is no exit clause with Man City. He has adapted very well and much as people would love him to come in and play he wasn’t ready.

“Coming in after a World Cup with players a number of weeks ahead of him in terms of fitness and training.

“He is adapting to a more physical game but he is very happy and we have been very pleased in terms of how he is making progress.”
