Celtic striker Moussa Dembele picked up an injury during Brendan Rodgers’ side’s last match.
Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has told the Glasgow Evening Times that Moussa Dembele could be out for the rest of the season.
Dembele limped off early during Celtic’s match against Glasgow Rangers yesterday, after pulling his hamstring attempting a back-heel.
And Rodgers admits that the injury could rule out Dembele for the rest of the campaign.
“We’ll see. It looks like a hamstring,” Rodgers said.
“If it’s a full blown hamstring then he probably wouldn’t be [available for the final game of the season]. We’ll see. It is still late April so that’s not until May time. We’ll see what the scan brings.”
If Dembele is out for the rest of the season, it could mean that he has played his last match for Celtic.
The French youth international has been linked with a number of sides throughout the season to date.
Dembele has always suggested that he is happy at Celtic, but Rodgers’ side’s resolve to keep the striker will almost certainly be tested this summer.
Dembele has scored 32 goals for Celtic so far this season across all competitions.
Leigh Griffiths is set to replace Dembele for the remainder of the campaign, if the former Fulham man is out injured.
