Celtic misfit Boli Bolingoli finally looks set to leave the club as a move to join Russian side Ufa is now believed to be in the pipeline.

That’s according to The Scottish Sun, who claim that Ufa are in talks to sign Bolingoli ahead of today’s Russian transfer deadline.

The Scottish window may have closed for incomings in January, but Celtic are still able to offload players to Russia for a few more hours yet.

Ufa have been chasing the signature of Bolingoli and now appear to on the verge of signing the Belgian left back before the end of the day.

It’s claimed that the deal will be a loan until the end of the season with a view to a permanent switch in the summer window.

Celtic paid £3million to sign Bolingoli from Rapid Vienna in the summer of 2019, with he and Greg Taylor brought in to replace Kieran Tierney.

Bolingoli played 28 times in a mixed first season at Parkhead, but then broke COVID-19 rules in August 2020, drawing ire from many.

The 26-year-old was loaned out to Istanbul Basaksehir less than a month later, and has played just twice for Celtic since returning.

It’s clear that Bolingoli isn’t part of Ange Postecoglou’s plans and probably isn’t ever going to be, so this expected exit makes perfect sense.

Celtic won’t receive anywhere close to what they paid for Bolingoli, but they simply need to get him of the books.

Ufa currently sit second-bottom in the Russian Premier League and need Bolingoli to get on board and save them from relegation.
