The creative prospect will link up with Celtic in the summer.
Celtic assistant manager Chris Davies has praised Lewis Morgan, stating that the new signing is capable of being a major success for Brendan Rodgers’ side.
Morgan joined Celtic last week but was immediately loaned back to St Mirren for the remainder of the campaign.
Davies is eagerly anticipating Morgan’s arrival at Celtic in the summer and the potential impact that he could make.
As reported by the club’s official website, Davies said: “Tactically he has an understanding of how to do that and he’s certainly got the mentality to work hard for the team as well. He’s a hard-working player but he also has a lot of technical quality on the ball.
“He’s a direct player who wants to go into the duel and run at players, and that’s something the fans like to see as well – an attack-minded player who has confidence in his abilities. He fits what we want from the wide players so we’re looking forward to him coming in the summer and getting going.”
Morgan, who is capable of playing as a winger or an attacking midfielder, has produced some excellent performances for St Mirren this season – he has scored nine goals and provided five assists across 21 appearances in the Scottish Championship.
The 21-year-old is an exciting prospect and it will be intriguing to see how quickly he can adapt to playing in the top tier of Scottish football.
A Scotland U21 international, Morgan was previously at Rangers’ academy prior to making the switch to St Mirren in 2013.
Morgan is composed in possession and a major creative threat, and the opportunity to play for Celtic and potentially test himself in Europe was certainly too good for him to turn down.
For now, though, Morgan will be focused on continuing to impress for St Mirren as he looks to show just why Celtic signed him.
