Neil McCann has fired a warning to old side Rangers, claiming that ‘Celtic are coming’ after them.
Steven Gerrard’s Rangers dropped two points in last night’s 2-2 draw with Aberdeen at Ibrox.
If not for James Tavernier’s late penalty, the Gers, who are now only two points ahead of Celtic in second place, would’ve lost.
The Hoops produced a fine display to win 3-1 away to Hibernian.
This time last month, Celtic were already six points behind the Premiership champions.
But now the gap has been reduced to two points and McCann, speaking to Rangers TV, has claimed his former club really must get the finger out.
He said: “If Rangers are to keep going and powering forward, winning games, retaining the title, because Celtic are coming hard at them, they’re coming strong as well.
“They really need to up their game, Stevie and the coaching team need to get into this side and get them going.”
Worrying
McCann is definitely right here and it’s a scary time from a Light Blues perspective.
For a side that didn’t lose a Premiership game last season, Gerrard’s troops haven’t been at the races.
They have already dropped nine points and although Celtic struggled early doors too, Ange Postecoglou’s team have won their last four league games on the spin.
The Bhoys are the form horses and it seems crazy to think that they could leapfrog their Old Firm rivals into top spot this coming weekend, depending on results obviously.
