Celtic have been showing an interest in signing Bristol City striker Antoine Semenyo – and he has scored yet another superb goal.
The Bhoys snapped up two strikers last summer as Kyogo Furuhashi and Giorgos Giakoumakis joined Ange Postecoglou’s revolution.
Yet with Albian Ajeti surely heading for the exit door this summer, Celtic could move for another goalscorer.
The hot link at the moment is with Bristol City talent Semenyo, with Celtic scouting him according to Bristol World.
Semenyo has been ridiculous of late, smashing five goals and five assists in his last eight outings for Bristol City.
The 22-year-old looks set for a huge future, and Celtic are looking towards Semenyo as a possible summer recruit.
The problem for Celtic is that Semenyo could cost a staggering fee.
Bristol City are allegedly seeking around £20million for Semenyo, which would not only be a Celtic record, but would cost them more than Kyogo and former star Odsonne Edouard combined.
That would be an unprecedented outlay from Celtic, and transfer insider Dean Jones now claims that the Bhoys just can’t afford Semenyo.
On Saturday afternoon, Semenyo was at it again as he scored a superb winner in the 2-1 victory over Middlesbrough.

Flicking the ball up with the outside of his left foot and then onto his thigh, Semenyo fired a left-footed strike into the corner in the blink of an eye.
Bristol City loved the goal so much they branded it ‘sexy football’ – Ruud Gullit would be proud!
That’s the sort of quality that is turning heads, with Semenyo set to attract more and more interest ahead of the summer transfer window.
Celtic understandably like Semenyo and may think he can become a star, but the price tag may just be beyond them.
If there is any indication of Bristol City selling for a little cheaper, expect Celtic to be right there in the mix – but with each goal, that is becoming less and less likely.
