Steven Gerrard’s Rangers and Neil Lennon’s Celtic are among the clubs interested in Dejan Ljubicic, according to The Daily Mail.

It has been reported that Old Firm rivals Rangers and Celtic have discussed the 22-year-old midfielder, and so have Southampton in the Premier League, with Brentford in the Championship in England also interested in the Rapid Vienna star.

According to The Daily Mail, Ljubicic is keen on leaving Rapid, with the Austrian club themselves willing to sell the youngster – who can also operate as a central defender – for £2 million.

Good player

Ljubicic is only 22 years of age and is a very promising player indeed, with his versatility to play as a central defender and as a holding midfielder making him even more appealing.

The Austrian reads the game well and has a good passing range, and he has recovered from the injuries that affected him in the middle of the 2019-20 campaign.

Rangers or Celtic move?

With Southampton and Brentford – who are aiming for promotion to the Premier League – reportedly interested, it may not be easy for Rangers or Celtic to convince Ljubicic to switch to Scotland this summer.
