Celtic midfielder Stuart Armstrong has been linked with Southampton in the January transfer window.

Southampton were linked with a move for Celtic midfielder Stuart Armstrong in the summer of 2017, and it seems that the Premier League club are back in the hunt for the 25-year-old Scotland international.
According to The Sun on Sunday (print edition, page 63, July 2, 2017), Southampton were interested in signing Armstrong from Celtic in the summer of 2017 (click here to read more).
Nothing materialised and the 25-year-old remained at Celtic, but it has now been reported that the Saints are interested in the Scotsman again.
According to The Sunday Post, Southampton are considering making a £10 million move for Armstrong in the January transfer window.

The former Dundee United midfielder played well last season, but the performances of the Scotland international so far this campaign have not been great.
Celtic and Southampton fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to speculation linking Armstrong with a transfer from the Scottish Premiership club to the Premier League outfit.
While Celtic fans are largely in favour of selling the Scotsman, many Southampton supporters seem to think that they do not need him as they have enough midfielders.

Meanwhile, former Dundee United youth coach Stevie Campbell has said that he wants Armstrong to stay at Celtic, and told The Daily Record: “I would like to see him stay at Celtic for a while, but it will be strange seeing him when I’m in the dug-out for Brechin.
“It’s coming up to three years now since he signed for Celtic and I know he’s loving working under Brendan Rodgers.”
