Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has been linked with Southampton.

Southampton are hunting for a new manager right now, having decided to sack Mauricio Pellegrino on Monday night following a run of just one win in the last 17 games.
The Saints only appointed Pellegrino last summer after he impressed in Spain with Alaves, and he was brought in as the replacement for Claude Puel following his departure at the end of last season.
Pellegrino was supposed to take the club forward, but he struggled to impress on the South Coast, and Saturday’s 3-0 defeat at Newcastle proved to be his last game in charge of the Saints.

Southampton parted ways with Pellegrino on Monday night, and the attention now turns to who could replace the Argentinian, with former Stoke City boss Mark Hughes the current favourite.
However, reports from The Scottish Sun also claim that Southampton are interested in raiding Celtic for manager Brendan Rodgers, either immediately or at the end of the season.
Given that Rodgers is in the middle of attempting to win another domestic treble with Celtic, and Southampton are fighting relegation, an immediate move seems infeasible for the ex-Liverpool boss.

Fans have been taking to Twitter to offer their views on the speculation though, with Celtic fans scoffing at the mere thought of Rodgers leaving for Southampton, suggesting the Saints aren’t a big enough club to land him, making any rumours a ‘complete non-starter’.
Southampton fans have largely been attracted by the Rodgers rumours, but question just why he would want to join the club given their current state, with one fan calling for the club to invest the money from Virgil van Dijk’s January move in a big move to lure Rodgers back to England.
