Here is the latest transfer news regarding Celtic and Rangers as the January transfer window begins to hot up.
Rangers have made Arsenal youngster Jon Toral their number one target for the January transfer window, according to the Daily Record.
Mark Warburton – who worked with the playmaker at Brentford – flew out to Spain to discuss a loan switch as Toral contemplates cutting his loan spell with Granada short, the Record reports.
Luke Daniels
The Gers are also amongst a host of clubs considering a move for Scunthorpe United goalkeeper Luke Daniels, HITC Sport understands.
Championship pair Cardiff City and Huddersfield Town are also keeping a keen eye on the stopper, who is out of contract at the end of the season, HITC Sport adds.
Rangers manager Mark Warburton
However, former Light Blues midfielder Alex Rae has essentially suggested that neither player should be at the top of the club’s list of targets for this window as they should instead be targeting a striker following Joe Garner’s injury, The Scottish Sun reports.
“The priority has to be a striker,” he said, as reported by The Scottish Sun.
“Rangers have to get someone to fill the void left by Garner because making sure they finish second is the undoubted aim now.”
Kouassi Eboue
Meanwhile, Celtic are closing in on their first deal of the January window as The Scottish Sun reports that they are close to signing Krasnodar youngster Kouassi Eboue.
The 19-year-old is set to move to Parkhead for £2.8 million, according to The Scottish Sun.
Celtic’s Kolo Toure
The Express are reporting that current Hoops ace Kolo Toure played a role in convincing Brendan Rodgers to pursue his countryman.
According to the Express, Toure spoke highly of Eboue, seemingly leading to the interest.
Finally, the Evening Times reports that Celtic are set to reward Stuart Armstrong for his brilliant form this season by offering him a new contract.
