Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers and Celtic were linked with him earlier in 2019.

Rangers and Celtic must be very thankful that they didn’t take a punt on Fran Sol.

The Spanish hitman was linked to the Old Firm giants in January [The Sunday People 16/12/2018, page 49], before ultimately joining Dynamo Kiev.

But it hasn’t been a huge success as of yet and it seems like Celtic and Rangers dodged a big bullet on this one, given his price-tag.

The Madrid-born striker, who played for Real’s C team, cost the Ukraine giants £2.7 million [Laotra Liga] and he hasn’t been a good return for the money so far

Up until now, Sol has played 11 games in all competitions for the club and scored only once.

On this form, he is hardly showing Rangers and Celtic what they’re missing, is he?

In Sol’s defence, he has only played 426 minutes – the equivalent of less than five full matches – since arriving in Kiev, which tells its own story, really.

He hasn’t been injured, rather it seems like he’s merely struggling to adapt.

The Gers have Jermain Defoe and Alfredo Morelos ripping things up in Scotland, while Neil Lennon has Odsonne Edouard, Leigh Griffiths and Vakoun Issouf Bayo.

In other words, Celtic and Rangers are doing just fine without Sol.
