Celtic and Leeds United have joined the race to sign St Pat’s Athletic talent Sam Curtis amid interest from Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

St Patrick’s Athletic teenager Sam Curtis is attracting more and more interest with a 2024 transfer now expected.

That is according to 90min, who claim that Celtic and Leeds United are both joining the race for Curtis.

St Pat’s had a dream end to their season, beating Bohemians 3-1 in the FAI Cup final earlier this month.

The expectation now is that Curtis will move on with the 17-year-old now attract major interest.

Celtic and Leeds United want Sam Curtis

Reports earlier this month suggested that Tottenham Hotspur were battling Manchester City and Manchester United in the race for Curtis.

90min now claim that Celtic and Leeds United are among the clubs to join the race.

Liverpool are now mentioned alongside Manchester United, Tottenham and Manchester City whilst Hull City and Middlesbrough are interested too.

The report claims that St Pat’s ‘fully expect’ Curtis to leave in the coming months with Premier League clubs difficult to fend off.

Curtis has dazzled as a right back or right wing back and has been nominated for the PFA Ireland Men’s Young Player of the Year award for 2023.

Curtis has also been hailed as ‘unbelievable’ by teammate Sam Grivosti, with the teenager turning heads over in Ireland.

Celtic or Leeds would take great delight in winning this race

Curtis appears to be a huge talent for the future, and he is already playing for the Ireland Under-21’s.

Leeds would no doubt love to secure this deal given that rivals Manchester United are keen.

Beating the Red Devils to Curtis would be an enormous coup for Leeds and they will be trying to sell him on the idea of a move to Elland Road.

The same goes for Celtic given that Tottenham – managed by former Bhoys boss Ange Postecoglou – are in the mix too.

The Premier League big boys will be the favourites but Leeds and Celtic may offer a more direct route to first-team football – and that could be vital for a 17-year-old how is already playing regularly in Ireland.
