Leeds United and Celtic have officially missed out on signing reported target Ryan Sessegnon.
According to The Scottish Daily Mail (30/09, back page), Leeds and Celtic both made contact with Tottenham Hotspur over signing the youngster.
However, he has now gone out on loan to Hoffenheim for the season.
Spurs are said to have picked Hoffenheim as Sessegnon’s destination by Football London, as they feel he will play at left-back regularly there.
Leeds and Celtic will now have to look at another left-sided player, if they want to complete a deal on deadline day.

Leeds look set to bring in Raphina to play down the wing (BBC Sport), but Celtic are still searching for targets with Diego Laxalt at the top of their list (Sky), as Neil Lennon’s side look to do some last minute business.
Spurs, meanwhile, will hope that Sessegnon can make a big impact in the Bundesliga, like a number of other young English talents recently.
