Celtic want Amadou Mbengue but face a battle to sign the Metz midfielder should they make a move to sign him this summer.
The Bhoys have lost Nir Bitton and Tom Rogic this summer, meaning midfielders may be on Ange Postecoglou’s radar.
Postecoglou does have quality midfield options at his disposal in Callum McGregor, Reo Hatate, Matt O’Riley, David Turnbull, Yosuke Ideguchi and James McCarthy.
Yet with Bitton gone, Celtic could look for a pure holding midfielder and have already been linked with players like Vinicius Souza and Alfa Semedo.
