Celtic are close to signing Alistair Johnston with the CF Montreal star seemingly nearing a move to Parkhead after the World Cup.
The Bhoys secured their first signing for January on Wednesday as Japanese defender Yuki Kobayashi agreed to join from Vissel Kobe.
The centre back will arrive when his Vissel Kobe deal ends but Celtic still want more.
Ange Postecoglou hinted earlier this week that he is targeting a World Cup player or two and it looks like another signing is drawing closer.

Celtic closing in on Alistair Johnston
The Scottish Sun reported on Wednesday night that Celtic are targeting a move to sign CF Montreal star Alistair Johnston.
That rumour now seems to be accelerating rapidly.
Transfermarkt report that Johnston is closing in on a January move to Glasgow.
It’s stated that talks over a deal are now advanced and Celtic are leading Bologna in the race for Johnston’s signature.
A major boost for Celtic is that, whilst Johnston plays for Canada, a move to Scotland is straightforward because he holds a UK passport.
Johnston arriving would surely lead to question marks over Josip Juranovic.
Johnston, 24, plays as a right wing back for CF Montreal but as a right-sided centre back for Canada.
Add in that Johnston can play as a right back and it looks like he could end up being the replacement for linked-away Juranovic.
Johnston started for Canada on Wednesday night as they turned in a superb performance against Belgium despite losing 1-0.
Many Canada players will be attracting interest after that display and Celtic are moving quickly to land Johnston.
Four goals and four assists in 33 MLS games last season showed off Johnston’s attacking ability and Celtic may well see him as perfect for Ange Postecoglou’s approach.
Postecoglou loves for his January business to be done early and it looks like Celtic could have two signings wrapped up before December even arrives.
