Celtic are set to sign Alistair Johnston and he has now admitted that Victor Wanyama is in his ear about a January move to Parkhead.
Ange Postecoglou loves to get his January business done early and that appears to be the case again.
Japanese defender Yuki Kobayashi has already agreed to join Celtic on a free transfer from Vissel Kobe.
That isn’t enough though as Celtic are now moving in for a second signing in CF Montreal defender Alistair Johnston.

Alistair Johnston opens up on Victor Wanyama message
Reports over the last week have suggested that Johnston is a prime target for Celtic.
Fabrizio Romano even claims that Celtic have now struck a ‘verbal agreement’ with CF Montreal for Johnston’s arrival.
The Daily Record add that Celtic will be paying £3million to lure Johnston from Major League Soccer to the Scottish Premiership.
Celtic fans have been getting a good look at Johnston at the World Cup given that he has started both of Canada’s group stage games.
Johnston showed his versatility by lining up as a right-sided centre back against Belgium and then as a right back against Croatia.
The 24-year-old even plays as a wing back at times so Celtic are getting a very adaptable performer.
Celtic supporters will have noticed that Johnston plays his club football alongside a former Bhoys favourite in Victor Wanyama.
The Kenyan midfielder was hugely popular in Glasgow and not finds himself playing in MLS with CF Montreal.
Johnston has now admitted to The Scottish Daily Mail (29/11, back page) that Wanyama is in his ear about joining Celtic.
Johnston noted that Wanyama is telling him he simply must take the chance to join the Bhoys, even claiming that Celtic are the biggest club he ever played for – above even Tottenham.
The Canada star branded Wanyama’s words as a ‘glowing review’ and believes he’s the best agent Celtic could have wished for as he nears a move to Parkhead.
“Victor is one who has definitely been in my ear about it. He had glowing reviews for the club,” said Johnston. “He was one of the ones who said to me ‘Look, if you get an opportunity and something comes up at Celtic, you have to take it.’ Vic says it’s the biggest club he had ever played for and he has played for some pretty big clubs in Spurs and Southampton – so that was a pretty glowing recommendation.”
“He said that anywhere he went he still got constant shouts of ‘hail hail’ and ‘come on the Bhoys!’ So I got a glowing review from Victor and I have done a lot of my own research. Victor has done a lot of research for me as well, to be fair. He’s the best agent Celtic could have,” he added.
