Celtic have allowed winger Michael Duffy to join Dundee on a season-long loan deal, as confirmed by the Dees’ official website.

Duffy is considered to be one of the most talented young players in the Celtic squad and to hand him regular minutes on the pitch in the Scottish Premier League the Hoops have allowed the 21-year-old to join Dundee.

Duffy arrives at Dens Park on a season-long loan deal and manager Paul Hartley expressed his happiness at being able to secure the services of the promising winger for the upcoming campaign.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Hartley said: “We are delighted to add another attacking option. Michael impressed during his spell with Alloa and we look forward to welcoming here.”

Duffy was signed by Celtic from Derry City back in 2015 and spent time on loan at Alloa Athletic last season, where he managed to impress.

Although the youngster has not yet made a single first-team appearance for the Hoops, he has already managed to win the hearts of the Parkhead faithful after refusing to applaud the Rangers players during the Gers’ guard of honour last season.

Now Duffy will be provided with an opportunity to prove his worth in the Scottish top flight and Celtic fans are certainly happy that the Northern Irishman has made the move to Dundee.
