Celtic ace Ryan Christie shares why Timothy Weah has been getting stick from his teammates

The young striker has already shown that he could be a real hit at Celtic.

Celtic ace Ryan Christie spoke to reporters about Timothy Weah’s impact at Parkhead, and joked that he and his teammates are already giving the striker some stick about his American accent, as quoted by the Scottish Herald.

The 18-year-old joined the Hoops on a six-month loan deal from Paris Saint-Germain earlier this month, and he has already impressed, scoring on his debut for Brendan Rodgers’ side.

Celtic currently sit at the top of the Scottish Premiership table, but Rangers are in hot pursuit, so Rodgers will be hoping that Weah can make a big difference for his side between now and the end of the season.

Christie highlighted how well the teenager has already settled in at Celtic, when speaking to reporters, although he did share why he and his teammates have been mocking the striker, as quoted by the Scottish Herald:

“He has a great American accent – he is getting a bit of stick for that. But he has fitted in really well. You need a bit of a personality to come to a big club. He has definitely got that. Hopefully now after the weekend he can really kick on and help the squad.”

Weah obviously still has a lot to prove in the game, and he has a great chance to make a real name for himself at Parkhead.

Celtic seem to have a real player on their hands, and if he fires them to their eighth consecutive league title, Rodgers will surely do everything he can to make his loan move a permanent one in the summer.
