Celtic earned a vital three points against RB Leipzig last night.
Celtic ace Ryan Christie spoke to reporters in the aftermath of his side’s impressive 2-1 win over RB Leipzig last night, and shared what went through his mind just before he set up Odsonne Edouard to score the winner, as quoted by the Glasgow Evening Times.
The Hoops kept their dreams of qualifying for the knock-out stages of the Europa League well and truly alive with their win over the Germans, and they will now fancy their chances of doing just that.
Christie himself arguably put in his finest performance in a Celtic shirt, and played a pivotal role in his side’s victory, providing a real attacking threat playing just off of the main striker.
The 23-year-old spoke to reporters after last night’s win, and shared how tempted he was to shoot for goal, before teeing up Edouard for his side’s winner against Leipzig, as quoted by the Glasgow Evening Times:
“As soon as I took the touch I could see Odsonne out of the corner of my eye running in but my first thought was ‘just shoot’. And then I thought to myself that maybe I had better not. It goes through your mind in such a flash but I could see he was in the better position and I was delighted to see him tap it in.”
Next up for Celtic is a trip to Livingstone on Sunday, and Brendan Rodgers’ men will be very confident in their chances of making it five consecutive wins in all competitions.
