FC Porto reportedly wanted to sign Olivier Ntcham from Celtic in the summer transfer window.

According to The Sun, Portuguese giants Porto wanted to sign Ntcham from Celtic in the summer and were prepared to pay £14m for the French midfielder.
Nothing materialised, and the 22-year-old midfielder has recently signed a new contract with the Hoops that will see him stay at Celtic Park until the summer of 2022.
Ntcham – who joined Celtic from Manchester City in the summer of 2017 for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £4.5 million – has stated that he was happy when he heard how much Porto were prepared to pay for him.
The Frenchman told The Scottish Sun: “I was happy when I heard that value. It means that I had been doing great work.
“I felt as though I had a great season and it was like winning a trophy for me to hear this, so I was pleased with that.”

Important player
Ntcham has developed into a very good and important player for Celtic, and him signing a new contract underlines just how highly manager Brendan Rodgers rated him.
According to Transfermarkt.co.uk, the Frenchman has scored three goals and provided one assist in seven Scottish Premiership appearances for Celtic so far this season.
