Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard has questioned referee Bobby Madden on Instagram after the man in the middle waved play on after a tackle from Aberdeen’s Scott McKenna that saw the Frenchman forced off the field of play.
Celtic earned a narrow 1-0 win over Derek McInnes’ side thanks to Scott Sinclair’s exquisite back heel in the second half, securing just the Hoops’ fourth league win of the season.
Brendan Rodgers’ was forced to withdraw Edouard, though, in the first half as he was tackled by defender McKenna which saw the Scotland international fly into the striker off the ground.
Edouard was replaced by Sinclair who eventually scored the winner, but the former Paris Saint-Germain striker took to Instagram over the weekend to question the decision made by Madden, posting: “Play, he touched the ball”.
The win over Aberdeen pushes Celtic into fifth place in the Scottish Premiership table, with Kilmarnock, Livingston, Hearts and Hibernian all ahead of the Hoops. Celtic remain two points above fifth-placed Rangers.
It remains to be seen if Celtic’s club-record signing will be available to face RedBull Salzburg on Thursday evening in the Europa League, as Celtic look to build on their win over Rosenborg last time out in Europe.
