Former Celtic ace Paul Lambert is now putting himself in the frame to become the new Aberdeen manager following the sacking of Stephen Glass.
That’s according to The Scottish Sun, who claim that Lambert is keen on a move to Pittodrie.
Glass was sacked on Sunday after a 2-1 defeat a way at Motherwell, bringing an end to his time at Aberdeen.
Glass lasted less than a year as Aberdeen boss, and the Dons are now back in the market for another new manager.
It’s now suggested that Lambert fancies the job and is open to talks if Aberdeen approach him, but he hasn’t actually applied for the job.
Lambert has been out of work since February of last year having lost his job with League One side Ipswich Town.
The Scot won just 37 of his 113 games in charge of Ipswich, with his last few jobs in England proven to be a little difficult.
Lambert only won two in 15 at Stoke City, 14 in 33 at Wolverhampton Wanderers, 12 in 33 at Blackburn Rovers and 34 in 115 at Aston Villa.
In fact, you could argue that Lambert hasn’t really enjoyed great success since winning 70 games in 142 at Norwich City, a stint which ended in 2012.
Lambert will be desperate to get back on track in his managerial career, and Aberdeen could present the right opportunity.

Around this time last year, Lambert was ruling himself out of the running to become Celtic boss.
Lambert was a Celtic star in his playing days and didn’t want to ruin his legacy at Parkhead, making it clear he didn’t want the job.
Whether Celtic would have even been interested is another matter, but Lambert didn’t fancy risking it all with the Bhoys.
Lambert doesn’t have those emotional ties to Aberdeen, hence his interest in the Dons job.
Neil Lennon is in the running for the job, with Lambert now the latest ex-Celtic man in the mix for Aberdeen.
