The Spaniard would be a useful addition to the West Ham United squad this summer.
Slaven Bilic’s search for a new striker is proving to be an illusive one, and in what must seem like a serious case of deja vu, Hammers fans are beginning to worry that a repeat of 2016’s summer transfer window is on the cards.
The West Ham boss is desperate to add more firepower to his ranks, but has already failed with bids for both Cedric Bakambu and Anthony Modeste, according to the Telegraph.
The Croatian also looks like he could miss out on prime target Olivier Giroud, with Everton entering the race to sign the Frenchman, according to the Mirror.
The east London outfit might just have to look further afield, in their search for a top quality hitman, and would be well served in making a move for Celta Vigo striker Iago Aspas.

The 29-year-old was in scintillating form for the Spanish side last season, scoring 26 goals in 49 outings.
What makes that tally even more impressive is that fact that he was deployed in a wide attacking role for over a third of those appearances.
Standing at just 5ft 9in tall, Aspas is technically gifted, and plays with a certain kind of intricacy that would provide the Hammers with a totally different facet to their attacking play.
The diminutive Spaniard possesses all of the attributes that would make him the perfect strike partner for Andy Carroll, what with his intelligent movement in and around the penalty box.
The former Liverpool star is still under contract with the Spaniards for another five years, however, so he will certainly not come cheap, but if West Ham want to be considered as a big club, they had better start acting like one, and the signing of Aspas would certainly be a statement of intent ahead of the new season.
