Leeds United have brought another new face on board this week.
Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino has been speaking to the club’s official website about the appointment of Ben Mansford as the Whites’ new chief executive.
Cellino has been busy this summer, appointing a new manager in the form of Garry Monk and now adding former Barnsley supremo Mansford to the payroll.
The latter’s appointment is something the Italian sees as important to his own role at Elland Road, easing the pressure and allowing all three men to do separate but vital jobs at the club.
Speaking to leedsunited.com, Cellino said, “He did a fantastic job at Barnsley and has an excellent reputation in the game.
“Ben’s arrival will now allow me to focus purely to focus on my role as chairman and the running of the club.”
Leeds are clearly restructuring this summer and it will be interesting to see how that leads into next season, when Monk will be expected to finish in the top six and ultimately earn promotion back to the Premier League after years away from the top flight.
Bringing in the right players will be crucial in that regard but so will hiring the right men off the pitch and in Mansford Leeds have someone with plenty of experience.
