Cedric Soares has told Arsenal’s Instagram story that Nicolas Pepe is pulling off ‘the most nutmegs’ in training.
The Arsenal defender, who no doubt would have been on the end of some of Pepe’s quick footwork, shared that the Arsenal speedster is ‘always trying’ to nutmeg his teammates in training.
“The most nutmegs in training I would go for, Nico,” said Cedric. “He is always trying.”
Arsenal fans would no doubt want some of that trickery to showcase itself on the main stage on a more regular basis.
Aside from a few moments here and there, Pepe hasn’t really been able to live up to his big-money price-tag.
Pepe returned to Arsenal’s starting XI over the weekend, but just like many of his teammates, he was unable to make a difference during his side’s defeat to Manchester City.
It will be interesting if he remains in the starting XI for Arsenal’s crucial Europa League clash against Benfica tomorrow night.
Scores are level ahead of this second leg showdown and a defeat here will well and truly send this abject season of Arsenal’s crumbling down into dust.
